🌯 Popular Sacramento taquería opens in Natomas
The Gist: Los Inmortales Taquería has officially opened its fifth Sacramento-area location at 3551 Truxel Road in south Natomas. Taking over the old Rubio's Coastal Grill storefront, the neighborhood spot officially welcomed diners in late summer 2026.
Why It Matters: The new opening breathes fresh life into a vacant storefront that sat quiet along the busy Truxel Road corridor since 2024. It gives South Natomas residents a vibrant, local option for quick Mexican comfort food.
🚃 SacRT Green Line service returns
The Gist: SacRT officially resumed Green Line light rail service on Monday, October 12, following a yearlong shutdown. Trains are once again serving the 7th & Richards/Township 9 Station, providing a transit option for state workers at the May Lee State Office Complex and nearby residents. A brand-new stop at 7th & Railyards is scheduled to open Thursday, October 15, becoming SacRT's 55th light rail station. Bus Route 11 is also returning to its regular schedule.
Why It Matters: The Green Line's return reconnects downtown Sacramento with the River District, making it easier for commuters and residents to travel between the two areas. The new Railyards station will also improve access to one of Sacramento's growing neighborhoods as development continues.
